Audemars Piguet turns to Alessandro Bogliolo for future growth

Swiss watchmaker Audemars Piguet has announced the appointment of Alessandro Bogliolo as its new director. The Italian executive is set to take over the role of chairman of the board of directors on November 11th, succeeding incumbent chairwoman Jasmine Audemars.

New era of growth

Jasmine Audemars, a great-granddaughter of the company’s co-founder Jules Louis Audemars and one of the few female leaders in the industry, announced her intention to step down from the role after 30 years. She took over from her father Jacques-Louis Audemars in 1992. Despite stepping down from her position as chairwoman, Jasmine Audemars will retain her role as chairwoman of the Audemars Piguet Foundation, which supports global forest conservation.

Alessandro Bogliolo, a veteran luxury industry executive, brings a wealth of experience to Audemars Piguet. New York-based Bogliolo, 57, served as CEO and executive board member of Tiffany & Co. from 2017 to 2021, when he stepped down following LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton’s $15.8 billion acquisition of the American jeweler.

Prior to this, he served as CEO of Italian fashion label Diesel and held management positions at Roman jeweler Bulgari for 16 years. Bogliolo started his career as a consultant at Bain & Co. and is currently a board director of Bath & Body Works.

Bogliolo’s appointment follows the announcement by Audemars CEO François-Henry Bennahmias that he would be stepping down from his position in 2023. Bennahmias’ replacement has not yet been named.
